Rochester Institute of Technology, University of Rochester, Greater Rochester Enterprise and High Technology Rochester present The 2006 Rochester Entrepreneurship Conference this Friday, January 20, 2006 at RIT. This day-long community event is designed to promote and encourage entrepreneurial behavior and economic growth within the greater Rochester community. It is affiliated with the 2005-2006 Rochester Regional Business Plan Competition.
The Conference offers concurrent sessions for potential entrepreneurs, current entrepreneurs and those commercializing technologies. This year's Conference, titled "Growing Entrepreneurial Ventures," will feature two keynote addresses and three tracks of panel discussions in the B. Thomas Golisano College of Computing and Information Sciences (Building 70) and the Center for Integrated Manufacturing Studies (CIMS) in the Louise Slaughter Building (78), respectively.
Following a welcome from RIT President Albert Simone and University of Rochester Provost Charles Phelps at 8 a.m. in the Golisano Auditorium, E. Philip Saunders, Chairman of Griffith Energy Inc., will deliver the morning keynote address from 8:15–9 a.m. Richard A. Kaplan, President and C.E.O. of Pictometry International Corporation, will deliver the afternoon keynote from 1–1:45 p.m. in the Louise Slaughter Building, Room 2240.
The series of panel discussions will focus on three tracks: 1) Starting High Growth Ventures, 2) Growing Entrepreneurial Ventures, and 3) Technology Commercialization Ventures.
