The inaugural Western New York Apollo Alliance Summit will be held at the New York State United Teachers Conference Center in Rochester, NY on November 8, 2007 from 9am-1pm. Optional field trips to examplars of green technologies are offered following the summit.
In July 2006, the New York State Apollo Alliance became the eleventh state chapter to join the National Apollo Alliance. The coalition is working to build New York's economy and protect the environment through energy independence and the creation of green collar jobs.
The Alliance anticipates a non-partisan audience of approximately 75 business, labor, environmental, community, and governmental affairs leaders joined in the goal to create a bold clean energy future for all New Yorkers.
The Summit will offer discussions on renewable energy development, job training partnerships, investments in green buildings, the role of market-based solutions to environmental challenges, healthy schools and sustainable municipalities. Conference participants will also have the opportunity to discuss how federal and state policy initiatives may advance these goals.
A vast group of panelists will include representatives from Greater Rochester Enterprise, Onondaga Community College, the City of Auburn New York, The Town of Brandt, and Erie County. Please see attachment for complete agenda.
Mail registration deadline is Monday, November 5, 2007. You may also register by email (will need to pay at door), or at the door.
