Greater Rochester Enterprise (GRE) is an economic development organization committed to attracting new capital investments and creating regional wealth and new jobs throughout the Greater Rochester, NY region.
The Executive Committee of Greater Rochester Enterprise (GRE) met today to discuss the organization's transition of leadership in light of Dennis M. Mullen's decision to assume a new position as President of Empire State Development, Upstate New York. The Executive Committee has elected Mark S. Peterson as interim president of Greater Rochester Enterprise.
Mr. Peterson is currently managing director of GRE. "Mark has the right mix of talent, experience and leadership ability to lead the GRE team during this transition," said Dr. Al Simone, GRE Chairman and President Emeritus Rochester Institute of Technology. "I am confident Mark will continue to build on the success GRE has garnered over the last several years to help attract business to this region and support the local businesses already here."
The GRE Board will engage a search consultant to assist with the process of selecting a new president and CEO for GRE. Dr. Simone will chair this search committee along with five board members, including Margaret Churchill, Executive Director, Wayne County Industrial Development Agency; James Laurito, President and CEO, Rochester Gas and Electric; Theresa Mazzullo, CEO, Excell Partners; Peter Robinson, Vice President and COO, University of Rochester Medical Center and Strong Health; and Christine Whitman, Chairman and CEO, Complemar Partners.
