Rochester, N.Y. — The International Business Council (IBC) of Greater Rochester, N.Y., an affiliate of Greater Rochester Enterprise (GRE), will host the 21st Annual Trade Banquet & Expo from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, at the Hyatt Regency in Downtown Rochester, N.Y. Marilynne Locke, Director, Trade Finance for Harris RF Communications, will provide the evening's keynote address, "The Real World of International Business."
"With 90 percent of the global market outside the U.S., the opportunities for growth through exporting are endless," said Leah George, GRE International Trade Associate. "Exporting in the Greater Rochester Region increased by 7.4 percent in 2011; we want to celebrate that and encourage other companies to consider international opportunities too."
The event provides networking opportunities, as well as an exhibition of resources to help local companies succeed in global trade. The IBC will also honor local companies for their excellence in international business. Carestream Health, Harris RF Communications, Pictometry and Sutherland Global Services are each nominated for Exporter of the Year. Advanced Language Translation Inc., Freed Maxick CPAs, M&L Trucking Services Inc., Mohawk Global Logistics, and Speed Global Services are all nominated for the 2012 Best International Service Provider. Winners will be announced at the banquet.
