Rochester, N.Y. — With 95 percent of all consumers living beyond U.S. borders, local companies throughout upstate New York are exploring opportunities to grow globally. For many, the next stop in their pursuit of international expansion will be the 2015 Upstate N.Y. Trade Conference, where 38 speakers including regional business leaders and nationally recognized experts will share insights and guidance to help area firms enter foreign markets.
Hosted June 18 by Greater Rochester Enterprise (GRE), it is the only conference of its kind in the state, offering business leaders access to expert counsel on international strategy, emerging markets, cross-border management, foreign-trade zones, export compliance and trade finance. GRE is encouraging business leaders to register quickly — space is limited, and the registration deadline is June 11.
“Across the country, top business executives continue to foresee international commerce as a key component in fueling economic activity in the U.S.,” GRE President & CEO Mark S. Peterson said. “As recovery picks up around the world, now is the time for local companies to lay the groundwork for new international ventures.”
At the conference, Nick Bennenbroek, managing director and head of currency strategy at Wells Fargo Securities LLC, will provide in-depth analysis of global economic trends to shed light on international prospects for local companies. Bennenbroek makes frequent appearances in national business media, including Bloomberg and CNBC, and his research is often featured in The Wall Street Journal and other financial publications.
In addition to Bennenbroek’s address, various panel discussions and breakout sessions will be tailored to meet the needs of growing companies. Other keynote presentations include:
